Objective To study the clinical and pathologic features of strumal carcinoid of the ovary. Methods Two cases of strumal carcinoid of the ovary were studied by microscopy and immunohistochemistry, with review of related literature. Results The tumor had distinct components of carcinoid and struma. The immunohistochemistry of the former was positive for CgA, Syn, but negative for Tg, calcitonin. Conclusion Strumal carcinoid of the ovary is a rare germ cell tumour with thyroid follicle differenciation. |
