The purpose of this study was to reinvestigate the value of crafts in rapidly changing the modern society and search the direction of craft education to cultivate talented people who will lead craft in the future. This study reclassifies the values and attributes of modern craft derived from previous studies from an educational point of view and examined the previous 10 years of researches on craft and searched for the direction of education by finding the connection between the core 4C (creativity, communication ability, collaboration ability, critical thinking ability) and the key craft competencies. It also examines the theoretical background of future talented competencies and extracted craft keywords such as creativity, technology, life use, design thinking, and problem solving by conducting a literature review on craft education related to the recent 10 years from 2008 to 2018. After examining the correlation between the extracted keywords and the 4C, the core skills of crafts were found to be adaptability, expansion, problem solving, social empathy, mutual respect, flexibility, integration, and knowledge exploration based on the goals and characteristics of each art curriculum. This study also found the direction for the future of craft education, focusing on the analysis of keywords in craft education, and to lay the foundation for the diversification of democratization in the craft sector, which coexists with various fields as well. |
