IV. Conclusion Research accomplishment In the following, we discuss how the research goals are have been accomplished. O Discuss and share the ideas with experts in Korea. O Complete the critical design of the MWIR spectrometer system and if necessary, review the commercially available parts. O Expect to attend internal conferences/meeting where lunar and planetary explorations are discussed mainly. O Continue collaboration with the international agency such as NASA to develop a scientific payload and define science missions for lunar explorations to promote the space exploration for the future human missions. Research Contribution O This R D will contribute to the Korea lunar pathfinder orbiter in 2018 and the second round of the lunar orbiter and lander in 2020. This would be a basis for future deep space explorations. O This program presented several conference meetings in Korea to promote the lunar exploration and related science in 2015. Also KARI had been applied for an associated member for SSERVI(Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute) aand formed a working group with NASA to study feasibility of lunar exploration in 2018. Application and future plan O Development of the MWIR spectrometer ground model will be expectred a basic study on a scientific payload for the Korea lunar exploration, and furthermore ti will be utilized in future deep space explorations. O The scientific research on the Moon and planets contribute the establishment of the base for international collaboration. O Possibility to apply the technology in Korea's future deep space exploration beyond the Moon for collecting data about water, dust and constituents of atmospheres. O Expansion of R D scope by development of the science payload and related science missions. O Rover technology can be spin-off to robotic missions for disaster, arctic, or war/conflict regions. |
